The Poor People’s Campaign
Columbia, South Carolina
May 16th, 2019 the Poor People’s Campaign hosted an open house to interested parties at Christ Mission Church. Local faith leaders reviewed the principles, history and future goals for the organization. Followed by two energizing sermons, and worship.
Four members of the community were invited to “testify” or share their personal stories of homelessness, healthcare, struggles with addiction, and recovery. Each member was asked to specify what assistance was necessary to rebuild their lives. Specific attention was drawn to a free pamphlet designed for the needs of Columbia’s homeless which outlines shelter, health services and more.
